Deutz Augments Lower Power Range With New Engines
Deutz AG now offers its industrial 1013 and 1015 series engines to serve as main propulsion and to power on-board generating sets.
These engines complement the marine engine range in the power class between 80 and 560 kW.
The 1013 series will cover with turbocharged and charge air-cooled four- and six-cylinder in-line engines the power range from around 80-300 kW at a speed of 2,300 min-1. Presently, the company has released, for workboat application, a power output up to 195 kW.
For on-board generating sets, there are available 80 to 155 kW (speeds 1,500 or 1,800 min -1). The four-cylinder engines have a displacement of 4.761 and the six-cylinder engines, 7.151. They operate with high-pressure injection and are equipped with single injection pumps, directly driven by the camshaft.
Exhaust mainfold and turbocharger is watercooled. Raw water is used for charge air cooling. The 1015 series engines are short, extremely compact Vengines with six and eight cylinders. They deliver power outputs between 194- 560 kW. Presently, the company has released for workboat application a power output up to 440 kW. The relevant speed range extends from 2,100-2,300 min- 1. These engines also feature high-pressure injection. The standard version is equipped with mechanical governor. For driving on-board generating sets with power outputs between 210-413 kW at synchronous speeds of 1,500-1,800 min- 1, an electronic governor is available as an option. Exhaust manifold and turbocharger are watercooled. The charge air is either cooled in the engine cooling circuit or by raw water. All auxiliaries are gear-driven.
